Study Abroad Programs

Explore the world at Heartland! Join our annual Southeast Asian Culture Festival, International Education Week events, and global speaker series. Study abroad through faculty-led programs in Ireland, Japan, South Africa and more, or spend a semester overseas with our Illinois Consortium partners. On campus, connect with other globally-minded students through the Global Student Union and gain practical cross-cultural skills. International Education Development

Heartland's Global Studies program lets you explore world cultures, languages, and international issues while earning college credits. You can study abroad in exciting locations and get guidance from experienced advisors to prepare for a global career.

Through international partnerships, cultural programming, and global curriculum development, the Committee for Global Education prepares Heartland students to engage thoughtfully with our interconnected world.

Our international student team is here to support your journey at Heartland. Gwen provides visa guidance, DACA resources, and help adjusting to campus life. Chandra and Megan assist with academic planning to keep you on track for your goals.

Expand your global perspective through Heartland's employee professional development opportunities, including workshops on internationalizing curriculum, faculty exchanges with Finland and the Netherlands, and immersive site visits to South Africa, Ireland, Japan, France, and Canada—all designed to deepen cultural awareness and enhance teaching practices.
