Transformative Gift for Future Innovators

Jennifer Walsh '05, founder and CEO of DataSync Technologies, has pledged $10 million to establish a comprehensive entrepreneurship center at her alma mater. The gift, the largest single donation in Hannon Hill University's history, will fund construction of a new facility and support programming for student entrepreneurs across all disciplines.

From Student to Success Story

Walsh credits her time at Hannon Hill with providing the foundation for her entrepreneurial journey. "The liberal arts education I received here taught me to think creatively and solve complex problems," she reflected. "This gift is about ensuring future students have even better resources to turn their ideas into reality." Walsh's company, valued at over $500 million, revolutionized cloud data management for healthcare systems.

Comprehensive Support for Student Ventures

The Walsh Center will offer a complete ecosystem for student entrepreneurs, including a maker space with 3D printers and prototyping equipment, a venture accelerator program with seed funding, and mentorship connections with successful alumni entrepreneurs. The center will also host an annual pitch competition with $100,000 in prizes.

Cross-Disciplinary Innovation

Unlike traditional business-focused entrepreneurship programs, the Walsh Center will explicitly serve students from all majors. "Innovation doesn't happen in silos," explained Dean of Innovation Dr. Robert Kim. "Some of our most promising student ventures combine technology with arts, sciences with social impact, and business with environmental sustainability."
