At Georgia Southwestern, we aim to provide quality support in assisting students with their financial needs. The office of Student Financial Aid offers financial resources to assist in funding in the form of grants, institutional scholarships, employment, and student loans to students. GSW offers one of the most generous scholarship programs in the state making us one of the best values and most affordable universities in the nation.
Our staff will help sort through various types of financial aid, including the Georgia HOPE Scholarships and Federal Student Aid Programs. Earning your education doesn't have to come with years of debt, and we're here to help!
In order to qualify for Financial Aid, students must complete the FAFSA for every academic year. Complete your online application after October 1st and before April 15th to qualify for priority consideration for the 2021-22 term.
Most student aid is awarded based on financial need. Need is the difference between your budgeted cost of attendance (educational expenses such as tuition, fees, room, board, books, supplies, and other related expenses) and an amount you and your family are expected to contribute toward your education (EFC – expected family contribution – is determined by the central processor based on a national standard formula).
