Preview Day at GSW

Join us for a Saturday Preview Day and get a snapshot of life at Georgia Southwestern. Students and parents learn about admissions, financial aid, and scholarships. Attendees also explore academic programs, interact with faculty, and enjoy a student-led campus tour.

Due to COVID-19, we are offering more Preview Days with limited attendance at each to allow for social distancing.

Tour Highlights

There’s nothing quite like visiting Georgia Southwestern State University and experiencing our beautiful campus in person! From walking down "Hello Walk" to planning how you will decorate your dorm room and even interacting with faculty, staff, and current students, our Preview Days will give you an idea of the GSW experience.

Georgia Southwestern is following all recommended precautions for the safety of students, faculty and staff. All attendees will be required to wear masks while on campus. Please review our Return to Campus Plans for more detailed information about how we are handling safety on campus. 

FAQ

How long will the tour take?

Preview Day tours last about half of the day starting at 8:30 AM and ending with lunch. Please see the schedule tour below for more detailed information.

Where do I park?

Parking is available for visitors all around campus. Signs will direct you to the preferred parking near the entrance of the Storm Dome.

Where can I eat lunch?

Enjoy lunch on campus following the tour or at one of Americus's great local restaurants. A list of local eateries will be provided at Preview Day.

Check-In and Campus Resource Fair, Student Success Center Lobby

  • Visit with faculty and staff to learn about the various resources available to students at Southwestern.
9:00AM Welcome
9:30AM

Admissions, Residential Living, and Financial Aid

  • Learn more about the application process, life at GSW, student housing, and how to apply for Financial Aid.
10:00AM

Academic Sessions, Academic Buildings

  • Tours include a stop at the freshmen residence hall.

Final Questions

  • Have final questions? Students will have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with Admissions staff before leaving campus.
  • All juniors, seniors, and transfers attending will receive a free t-shirt.

FAFSA Workshop (Optional)

  • A representative from Georgia Student Finance Commission will assist you in submitting your FAFSA. We encourage you to bring your and your parent's 2020 tax return. It is possible to complete the FAFSA without this information, but the process is easier with the information.
